Getting started

Add an account and run your first checks.

Which Instagram accounts can I monitor?

Any public profile. Private, unavailable or restricted profiles are detected automatically and can’t be checked, and you’re never charged for them.

How do I add an account?

Open Monitored accounts and enter a username or profile URL. Adding an account is free: we read its public profile so you can see how many Signals a check will use before you run one.

Do checks run automatically?

No. Follist never launches a check by itself. Every check starts only when you choose to run it, and we show the estimated Signal cost first. You can also ask us to confirm before every run in Settings → Check preferences.

How long does a check take?

Usually under a minute for accounts that follow a few hundred profiles, and a few minutes for very large lists. You can leave the page while it runs; the result is saved and shown in the account’s timeline.

Baseline & comparison scans

The two kinds of check, and when each one happens.

What is a baseline?

The first check of an account. It saves the complete list of profiles the account follows today. This is your starting point.

Because there is nothing to compare it with yet, a baseline doesn’t show any changes.

What is a comparison scan?

Every check after the baseline. It reads the full following list again and compares it with your previous check. It shows:

  • New follows: accounts that weren’t in the previous list.
  • Possible unfollows: accounts that are missing from the new list.
When will I see my first change?

From your second check of the same account, the first comparison scan. Run the baseline now, then run a comparison scan whenever you want to know what changed since then.

Do both kinds of check cost the same?

Yes. Both read the full following list, so both use Signals based on how many accounts the profile follows.

Understanding results

Confidence, quality and unfollows explained.

Why are unfollows only “possible”?

Public following lists can occasionally come back incomplete. An account missing once might simply not have been read. So it’s marked possible first. If a later complete check also misses it, it becomes likely. If it reappears, we show that too.

What do HIGH, MEDIUM and LOW confidence mean?

HIGH: both checks were complete and the account was matched by its permanent Instagram ID.
MEDIUM: one of the checks was slightly incomplete, or the result was unusual compared with the profile’s following count.
LOW: one of the checks was clearly incomplete; treat the result with caution.

What does snapshot quality (completeness) mean?

It compares how many accounts we could read with the following count shown on the profile. 100% means we read the complete list. If a check reads less than 95% of the list, it is not charged and its results aren’t used to confirm unfollows.

Can I share or save a summary?

Yes. In Reports, create a report for one account or your whole watchlist and a period (7, 30 or 90 days). Open it to read it, or use Download PDF to save or print it.

Signals & billing

How usage is measured and charged.

What is a Signal?

The unit we use to measure checks. 1 Signal covers 100 following records. For example, checking an account that follows 750 profiles uses 8 Signals; one that follows 3,000 uses 30.

How do I know what a check will cost?

Before every check we show the estimate on the button (for example “Run comparison scan · 8 Signals”). While the check runs we reserve a little more (up to 10%) in case the list grew, and return anything not used as soon as it finishes.

Do failed checks use Signals?

No. If a check fails, the profile turns out to be private, or less than 95% of the list could be read, every reserved Signal is returned to your balance.

What does the plan include?

The Core plan is $14.99 per month and includes 500 Signals every billing cycle, with unlimited monitored accounts. If you need more, top-up packs are available: 100 Signals for $4.99, 500 Signals for $19.99, 1,000 Signals for $34.99, 2,000 Signals for $59.99, 10,000 Signals for $249.99.

Where can I see how I used my Signals?

Plan & Signals shows your balance, how many Signals each account used this cycle, and every reservation, charge and refund.

Privacy & your account

What we access and how to control your data.

Do you need my Instagram login?

Never. Follist doesn’t ask for Instagram passwords, cookies or sessions, and only works with publicly available information.

Which emails will I receive?

You choose in Settings → Email notifications: a summary when a check finishes, a message when a possible unfollow is confirmed, and a reminder when your Signals are running low.

How do I delete my account and data?

Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete account. Your monitored accounts, results and reports are removed. This can’t be undone.

Still need help?

Talk to a human.

Tell us the public username and roughly when you ran the check, and we’ll look into it.
